Multiple DJ Amplifiers Connection Diagram in Parallel Mode
Hi, in this article, we are going to see the Multiple DJ Amplifiers Connection Diagram in Parallel Mode. Connecting multiple DJ amplifiers in parallel mode is required to achieve higher power output or to distribute sound in a large venue or at an outdoor event, you may need more power to adequately cover the space with sound.
Using multiple amplifiers also helps for backup in system failure. If one amplifier were to fail during a performance, having another amplifier connected and ready to take over can ensure that the music continues without interruption.
Connection Diagram(Amplifier to Amplifier Connection)
Here, you can see the wiring diagram for connecting multiple DJ amplifiers with Mixer and speakers to operate in Parallel Mode.
Connection Procedure
First of all, we need to connect the output of the Audio Mixer to the input of the amplifier 1. As we want to operate in parallel mode, so we need to take any one channel output from the mixer. We can take output from any one channel Left or Right. Also, in the parallel mode, we need to provide input to the amplifier 1 to any one channel. Here, in the above wiring diagram, we have provided input to channel 1. After connecting the amplifier 1 to the mixer we need to connect the amplifier 2. Here, we need to connect the channel 1 output of the amplifier 1 to the channel 1 input of the amplifier 2. By following this amplifier-to-amplifier connection method, you can connect multiple amplifiers. Remember that here we have connected the amplifier to the mixer using XLR cables. Your devices may have different types of ports or connectors so use that type of cables as per your devices have.
Now, we need to make the connection between the speaker and the amplifier. As we operate the amplifier in parallel mode we can connect any speaker to any channel. But for simplicity purposes, it is advisable to connect the channel 1 module of all the amplifiers to all the respective left-side speakers or DJ boxes. And the channel 2 module of all the amplifiers to all the respective right-side speakers or DJ boxes. Here also, remember that we have used Speakon cables to connect speakers to the amplifier. Connect your devices using cables whatever your devices have.
In the above wiring diagram, you can see that both the amplifier and mixer are connected to the power supply through a stabilizer to protect the devices from low voltage, voltage fluctuation, and other voltage-related problems.
Connection Diagram(Using Signal Splitter)
In this method, we use a signal splitter to connect all the amplifiers instead of connecting amplifier to amplifier.
Connection Procedure
Here, we need to connect the mixer output to the signal splitter input. And all the amplifiers should be connected to the output of the signal splitter. As we operating in parallel mode, so here we use only one channel which is Channel 1. You can connect any output left or right channel from the audio mixer to the Channel 1 Input of the signal splitter. Now Channel 1 Input of all the amplifiers are to be connected to the Channel 1 output of the signal splitter.
In this method, rest all the speaker's connections and power connections are the same as the previous method.
Settings
To operate this whole system in Parallel Mode, you must need to configure some settings in your Amplifier and Mixer.
In all of your amplifiers, keep the "Operation Mode Switch" in the Parallel Position.
In your mixer, keep the "Pan Knob" at fully left if you taking the output from the left channel or keep the "Pan Knob" at fully right if you taking the output from the right channel.
